21 Apr All You Need Is Love
All you need is love… and hope… and some knowledge of school bus engines, or be able to afford a great mechanic!
Ever had one of those weeks – where the engine keeps overheating, and the water pump that you just ordered parts for and repaired, stops working while you’re running a bath, and the engine continues overheating, and when you open the hood, antifreeze spews like a volcano all over your windshield, etc, and since the water pump stopped working you don’t have access to water, so you stop at the first sight of water regardless of the fact that it is only a mud hole…yeah, that has been our week. That picture depicts exactly how I felt…
So, we try to focus on loving that we are together with our family. We even have one of our daughters and three of our grandchildren riding in with us, because this past week, we have taken two trips. Both of them were really special family vacations. This is actually my view right now, on the way back from visiting our daughter and son-in-law in Quebec 🙂
Love truly is a necessity, though! We wouldn’t make it through this life without it – and certainly not while living in 216 square feet. I am thankful that we know Love, Himself! And I am thankful for this wooden plaque that hangs in my home, that I need to read regularly. Because life tests one’s mettle! It sure has been testing ours!
I can tell you – love doesn’t come naturally through me… biggest reason being that I am selfish. But when the “I” in “I love you” becomes more important than the “you”, the word in the middle fades away… And the more I focus on myself and my problems, life loses hope, as well. That, my friend, is a definite downward spiral! Last evening, after pretty much reaching the end of my rope, when a string of computer glitches ended with the crash of said computer and my non-existent blog post, my husband rushed home, put his arms around me and prayed. He couldn’t have done better!
“And we are also happy with the troubles we have. Why are we happy with troubles? Because we know that these troubles make us more patient. And this patience is proof that we are strong. And this proof gives us hope. And this hope will never disappoint us. We know this because God has poured out His love to fill our hearts through the Holy Spirit he gave us.”
Love…always hopes…Love never fails.
